Delores A. Oletzke, age 87, Browns Valley, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Grace Home in Graceville, MN.
Funeral Services will be Friday, February 28, at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Browns Valley with Pastor Jonathan Varns officiating. Music will be provided by Ginny Westbrock and Charlene Strand.
Burial will be in the Sisseton Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ricky Homan, Randy Homan, Branden Oletzke, Derek Ikeogu, and Clint Determan. Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Delores Annette was born November 8, 1937, to Oscar and Lola (Heifner) Englund in Breckenridge, MN. She attended school in Rosholt and graduated from the Agricultural School in Morris, MN, in 1955. After high school, Delores worked at Union State Bank in Browns Valley for three years.
On August 27, 1958, Delores married Roger Oletzke at St. Joseph's Lutheran Church in rural Rosholt. Delores spent a lot of time outside helping with chores and working in the field. When her four girls were young, Delores sewed matching dresses for every holiday as well as many other items. She later worked at Union State Bank again in 1971 for another three years. Delores also was employed as an account manager at the Alco Store in Sisseton from 1988 until her retirement in 1996.
Delores's passion to cook and bake was evident as she always had to have something on hand at all times for everyone and anyone who might stop by. She loved her five children, 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and enjoyed hosting holidays for all of her family.
Survivors include her husband, Roger; children, Twila (Ed) Homan of Beardsley, Brenda (Bob) Zabel of Browns Valley, Dale (Kristi) Oletzke of Browns Valley, Peggy (Dennis) Duffield of Browns Valley, and Trudy (Jon) Determan of Wheaton, MN; grandchildren, Ricky Homan, Randy (Rebecca) Homan, Nikki (Kyle) Boike, Wendy (Jered) Gruby, Lindsay (Nate) Hanssen, Whitney (Evan) Ziemer, Malissa (Jacob) McCloud, Branden Oletzke, Nyssa (Daniel) Jimenez, Haley Duffield, Maddie Duffield, Derek Ikeogu, Alison (Derek) Peterson, Clint Determan, and Zaundra Determan; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-step-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Marcy Johnson of Rosholt.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lola Englund; and brothers, LeRoy Englund and Lloyd Englund.
