Wayne Pastorius

Wayne L. Pastorius, age 79, New Effington, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019, at Essentia Health in Fargo.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 29, at 10:00 a.m. at Walla Lutheran Church in rural New Effington, with Rev. Suzanne Benidt officiating.  Music will be provided by organist Robin Dare and vocalist Linda Loberg.

Honorary urn bearers will be Wayne's coffee friends at Mikey's.

Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the church.

Wayne Lowell Pastorius was born March 7, 1940, in Breckenridge, MN, to Arthur and Lula (Bonn) Pastorius.  He attended school at Windom Country School and graduated from Rosholt High School in 1958.

On September 16, 1961, Wayne married JoAnn Peterson at St. Joseph Lutheran Church in rural Rosholt.  He farmed until 1987.  In 1988, Wayne and JoAnn moved to Colorado where Wayne worked as a carpenter.  They retired in 2008 and made their home in New Effington.

Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, playing cards and bowling.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn of New Effington; four children, Lorraine (Troy) Dickerman of Hankinson, ND, Wayne, Jr., (Dawn) Pastorius of Colorado Springs, CO, Gene (Joanie) Pastorius of Colorado Springs, and Joey (Cheryl) Pastorius of Larkspur, CO; six grandchildren, Kyle (Ashley) Dickerman, Lacey Dickerman, Nicole Cotterill, David and Taylor Pastorius and Wyatt Pastorius.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; son, Roger; grandson, Steve Dickerman; and sister, Gloria Johnson.
