Vicki M. (Spotts) Powers, age 71, Browns Valley, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Tekakwitha Living Center in Sisseton.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 17th, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Browns Valley with Cheryl Jenner officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Urn bearer will be Shane Raw.
Burial will be at a later date in the Valley View Cemetery, Browns Valley.
Vicki Marie was born December 8, 1953, to William and Donna (Christensen) Spotts in Browns Valley, MN. She attended school in Browns Valley, graduating in 1971. She continued her schooling at Alexandria Tech in Alexandria, MN. After finishing school, Vicki worked at the DMV in Minneapolis and later in Wheaton, MN.
Vicki married Ron Hurlbut in 1977 and they were blessed with 2 children, Ryan and Kelli. She was employed as a CNA at the Browns Valley Health Center, as an aide at the Browns Valley School, and owned and operated Aladdin's Land Arcade.
On April 20, 2002, Vicki married Curtis Powers in Browns Valley. She worked at Hansen Pole Building and then Dacotah Bank in Sisseton until she retired in 2018.
Vicki was a member of the United Methodist Presbyterian Church, the Jaycee Women, the Community Choir, and the BV Celebrate committee. She enjoyed bowling in her earlier years, tending to her garden and flower beds and had a passion for sharing her faith through Blue Jean Service.
Survivors include her husband, Curt Powers of Browns Valley; children, Ryan Hurlbut (Kelsey Mohs) of Browns Valley, Kelli Rinehart of Browns Valley, Josh Powers of Blaine, MN, Heather (John) Wempe of San Antonio, TX, and Brandon (Stephanie) Powers of Zimmerman, MN; nine grandchildren; sister, Janet (Terry) Biewer of Browns Valley; and brother-in-law, Tom Monson of Louisville, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Donna Spotts; sister, Judi Monson; brother, Lynn Spotts; and brother-in-law, Bill Raw.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be directed to the Valley View Cemetery.
