Terry McQuian Magnuson was born March 8, 1945, to Quentin and Agnes (Broz) Magnuson of rural Sisseton, SD. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. After finishing country school at Enterprise #4, Terry stayed home to help on the family farm. He became an accomplished mechanic and welder. He later worked road construction and drove heavy equipment. Terry also was a former deputy sheriff of Roberts County and Chief of Police in Rosholt.
On September 15, 1973, Terry married Maxine Anderson of Wheaton. They had four children, McQuian, Travis, Mandi and Daryn. They lived in New Effington, rural Rosholt, Mesa, AZ, and Newcastle, WY. Through the years, Terry has worn many hats. In 1994, due to an injury, he was forced to retire. Terry helped his children prosper in the iron salvage until he moved back to New Effington in 1999.
Terry was a jack of all trades. He loved to tinker with motors, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending quality time with his family. He was an avid Western watcher. Terry was a good listener but also was not afraid to put in his two cents. He lived in New Effington at the time of his passing. We will wholeheartedly miss his warm hugs, laughter, and sense of humor.
