Stanley J. Goehring, 90, Wheaton, MN, died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 13, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Browns Valley, MN, with Rev. Darrell Boe officiating. Music was provided by organist Janet LeClair and vocalist Jim Sundberg.
Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery, Browns Valley. Active urn bearers were Stan's grandchildren. Honorary urn bearers were his nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Stanley James Goehring was born November 30, 1922, in Roberts County, SD, to John and Clara (Lundstrom) Goehring. He graduated from Browns Valley High School in 1941.
On February 5, 1944, Stan married Charlotte Mae Deyo in Minneapolis, MN. They shared 63 happy years together before Charlotte passed away in December 2007.
Stan's goal of becoming self-employed by the age of 30 was realized in 1952, at which time he founded Stan's Truck Refrigeration Service of New Brighton, MN. He and Charlotte owned and operated their business until 1981 when Stan retired.
Stan enjoyed many hobbies over the years, including fishing, duck hunting, deer hunting, and woodworking. Above all, he enjoyed his time with family and friends.
Survivors include four children, Linda Goehring of Browns Valley, Marcia Goehring of Fargo, Kris (Geoff) Street of Revillo, SD, and Marcus Goehring of Watertown, SD; nine grandchildren, Margaret (Jim) Sundberg, Tammy (Victor) Wanchena, Trina (Dwayne) Tamplain, Holly (Cathan) Murray, Roger Vrieze, Jr., Marcus Goehring, Benett Street, Lydia Street, and Charlotte Street; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Martin, Spencer Sundberg, Trey Hodge and Grady Murray; one sister, Carol (Steve) Gaetz of St. Cloud, MN.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charlotte; son, Kent; and his brothers, Gale, John and Dean.
