Sis Nigg Remund Torgerson was born April 20, 1923, in Browns Valley to Anton Jacob and Lillian Maggie (Johnson) Nigg. She had two sisters and nine brothers.

Sis married Kenneth Myron Remund in 1940 and lived on a farm near Wilmot.  Widowed in 1972, she married Roger Torgerson in 1975 and resided in Big Stone City, SD.

Sis was proud to be a Nigg and was never afraid to defend her family, good or bad. She always told it like it was. She liked to bowl, tap dance and loved to dance in her cowboy boots. Her clothes always resembled her personality - bold and colorful. She was a red-headed spitfire who always spoke her mind. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan, people person and the life of the party.

Survivors include her children, Sharon Herting of Richmond, VA, Janet Kaufenberg of Little Canada, MN, Dennis Remund of Watertown, SD, Steve (Thanh) Remund of Seattle WA, and Kevin Remund of Vermont; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Sis was preceded in death by her husband, parents, eight brothers, and two sisters.

The family requests all memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
