Shirley A. Hoffman, 80, Browns Valley, MN, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at the Browns Valley Health Center.

Funeral Mass will be Saturday, January 20, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Browns Valley with Father Gregg Frankman and Father David Breu officiating.  Music will be provided by organist Norma Jung.

Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery, Browns Valley.  Pallbearers will be Cory Hoffman, Brice Hoffman, Anthony Homan, Brad Larson, Wade Haaland, and Justin Crow.

Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the church.   Visitation will continue Saturday one hour prior to the service.

Shirley Ann was born March 12, 1937, to Otto and Elsie (Tietz) Rieck in Beardsley, MN.  She attended school in Beardsley.

On May 21, 1955, Shirley married Odell Hoffman at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Browns Valley.  Shirley was employed at the Browns Valley Health Center and for Minn-Dak Mechanical.  She then worked with Odell and their son Tim at Hoffman Electric in Browns Valley.  Odell passed away May 23, 2004.  Shirley made her home in the Browns Valley Health Center in 2015.

Shirley was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church where she served in the Ladies Guild and the Christian Mothers.  She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, the Browns Valley Senior Citizens, the Red Hats and the Lakeside Mixers Club.  She also helped with Meals on Wheels for many years.

Shirley enjoyed watching NASCAR, the NDSU Bison, the Minnesota Twins and playing cards.  She also liked traveling and going for rides.  Shirley especially loved spending time with family.

Survivors include her children, Tim (Carol) Hoffman of Browns Valley, Cindy (Pat) Homan of Beardsley, MN, and Terry (Donna) Hoffman of Browns Valley; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Lill Raatz of Browns Valley; and sister-in-law, Linda (Dale) Larson of Wheaton, MN.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Elsie Rieck; husband, Odell Hoffman; two sons, Todd and Tom Hoffman; a sister, Violet Oletzke; and two brothers, Harold Rieck and William Rieck.
