Sherman Dean Fellbaum was born May 5, 1931, in Sisseton, SD, the son of Walter E. and Hildegard (Siewert) Fellbaum. He attended rural grade school at Minnesota Township #1 school north of Hammer in Roberts County. He graduated as valedictorian from Sisseton High School in 1949.

On October 27, 1953, Sherman married Renata Trittin at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Lidgerwood, ND. To this union the Lord blessed them with 3 children, Debbie, Paul, and Warren. They farmed and raised cattle and hogs on the Fellbaum farm north of Hammer for fifty years.

Sherman was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, rural Claire City, where he was baptized and confirmed. His church was very important to him. He was active in choir and for forty-two years served in various duties as Sunday School superintendent, elder, treasurer, or steward. He was active in the benevolent activities of Aid Association for Lutherans and Thrivent for Lutherans and was pleased with the good these groups did in the local communities.

Sherman enjoyed his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, hunting, fishing, gardening, and the wonders of God's creation, and most of all the love of his wife, Renata.

Survivors include his wife Renata Fellbaum of New Effington; children, Debbie (Terry) Sutton of Sisseton, SD, Paul Fellbaum of Fargo, ND, and Warren (Vicky) Fellbaum of New Effington; 5 grandchildren, Nicole Elliott, Amber Kemnitz, Michael Sutton, and Joshua and Cody Fellbaum; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Sharon Kinden of Columbia, MO.
