Ruth Kenney

Ruth Kenney, 93, Beardsley, MN, passed away Saturday May 24, 2014, at the Browns Valley Health Center in Browns Valley, MN.

At Ruth's request, a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Beardsley.

Ruth was born March 31, 1921, in Browns Valley, MN, to Joseph and Emma (Schroeder) Duehr. She married Gordon Kenney on May 13, 1946, in Browns Valley. They lived on the family farm south of Beardsley. In 1969, they moved into Beardsley where she resided until entering the Browns Valley Health Center.

Survivors include two daughters, LuAnne (Ronald) Berning of Moorhead, MN, and Kathy (Paul) Serocki of Wilmot, SD; six grandchildren, Heidi (Stuart) Wedell of West Fargo, ND, Erica (Jon) Peterson of Moorhead, Kyle Serocki of Melrose, MN, Sarah (David) Schoenfelder of Dimock, SD, Michael (Marcella) Serocki of Norfolk, VA, and Bernadette Kenney; a step great-grandson, Steven (Erika) Peterson; and seven great-grandchildren, Erin and Ava Wedell, Ellie and Morgan Peterson, Elizabeth and Benjamin Schoenfelder, and Adam Serocki.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon in 2010; son, Michael James Kenney in 2006; and brothers and sisters, Helen (Ted) Deyo, J. Maurice (Esther) Duehr, Kermit (Dallas) Duehr and Dorothy (Joe) Schwagel.
