Roy Kuehn

Roy F. Kuehn, age 90, Peever, SD, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Avantara Lake Norden Care Center in Lake Norden, SD.

Funeral Mass will be Monday, September 18, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Sisseton.

Burial will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the church and will continue Monday morning one hour prior to the service.

Roy F. Kuehn, a 15 pound bouncing baby boy was born to Henry and Emma (Minks) Kuehn on March 28, 1933.  He grew up in the rural Peever area and left briefly to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army.  He then returned to the farm that he had lived on since he was 13.

This farm is where he brought his bride, Veronica Fischer, to live and where they raised five kids and registered black Angus cattle.  The passion and love he had for Pleasant View Angus Ranch (aka The Krazy K Ranch) was second only to his love for his wife and kids.  Roy loved working with wood and grilling a good black Angus steak for family and friends who came to visit.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He especially enjoyed his deep-sea fishing excursions with friends and relatives.  Roy and Veronica enjoyed spending Saturday evenings with friends kicking up their heels at the local establishments.

Roy's memory will live on in his wife of 62 years, Veronica; and kids Peggy (Chuck) Stoks, Julie (Roger) Thue, Jeff Kuehn, Brad (Linda) Kuehn, and Pam (Todd) Voegele.  Inspired to live like Roy are his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Roy's name will be carried on by his great-grandson Roy Steven Wetter.
