Roxanne Bertram

Roxanne R. Bertram, 65, Browns Valley, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022, at her home in Browns Valley.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 10, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Lutheran Church in rural Rosholt with Rev. Vern Donnell officiating. Music will be provided by organist Lana Sand.

Burial will be in the St. Joseph Lutheran Cemetery, rural Rosholt.

Roxanne Rae Bertram was born to Deloris (Jackson) and Calvin Bertram on August 29, 1957, in Fargo at St. Luke's. She was the youngest of three--siblings being Linda and Peter. Roxy was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's and graduated from Rosholt High School in 1975. She lived in Duluth for a bit and even spent a winter in a tipi there.

Roxy took interest in Interior Design and Architecture, but later became an LPN through NDSCS. Roxy traveled the West with her horse and dog and worked on ranches in Utah, Wyoming, Colorado and South Dakota--cooking, caretaking, and riding. She worked as an LPN at Tekakwitha in Sisseton over several years, making many friends there.

In 1995, she birthed her daughter Bridget, the "joy of her life." Roxy and Bridget lived around Beardsley and Rosholt, settling on the Bertram farm where Roxanne kept cattle, cared for her parents, and raised her daughter. Her love for horses and nature was lifelong. She enjoyed many trail rides and rodeos with her friends, family, and neighbors. She also welcomed Shelby and Chandler into her home, as well as any kid or adult who needed it. She eventually moved to town (Browns Valley, MN) and spent her time being a community support, a kind heart, and avid gardener.

Bridget and her husband Robert allowed Roxanne to become an ecstatic grandma to Almanzo in December 2021. Roxy thoroughly enjoyed every moment and was a wonderful grandmother. She will be missed by many.

Roxanne leaves behind her daughter Bridget (husband Robert Vandeputte); grandson Almanzo Cedar Vandeputte; mother Dee Bertram; sister Linda (Bruce) Flaten; brother Pete (Carol) Bertram; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father Cal; cousin John Jackson; niece Kate Bertram; and many friends and family members.

Blessed be the memories of Roxanne.
