Rosallia V. Serocki, 93, Browns Valley, MN, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017, at the Browns Valley Health Center in Browns Valley, MN.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 28, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Browns Valley with Father Gregory Frankman officiating. Music will be provided by organist Norma Jung.
Burial will be in the St. Anthony's Cemetery, Browns Valley. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Vince and Tony Serocki, Brian and Chad Serocki, and Kelly, Rick and Nick Hansen. Gift bearers will be her granddaughters, Amy Olson and Amber Bernard.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 at the church. Visitation will continue Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Rosallia Veronica was born April 2, 1924, to Mike and Rosallia (Miotke) Lewandowski in Grenville, SD. She attended school in Sisseton. After she finished school, Rose worked at Landsberger's Creamery in Sisseton and at a creamery in Wahpeton picking chickens and candling eggs. During WWII, she worked at Honeywell in Minneapolis building gliders for the war effort.
On October 10, 1946, Rose married Lawrence Serocki at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Sisseton. They made their home on a farm in Traverse County. Rose helped farm with Lawrence and also worked at Lynch's Locker Plant and Ike's Chicken Shack in Browns Valley.
Rose was a tireless caretaker for Larry in his later years. She dedicated her retirement years to seeing to it he was well taken care of. She had many talents from frying the best side pork in the county to maintaining a WD45 Allis Chalmers. She enjoyed going to the casino.
Lawrence passed away October 2, 2014. Rose entered the Browns Valley Health Center in 2015.
Rose was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the St. Anthony Guild in Browns Valley.
Survivors include her children, Dennis (Kathy) Serocki of Browns Valley, Marjorie (William) Kraus of Wheaton, MN, Richard (Helen) Serocki of Browns Valley, John Serocki of Beardsley, and Ann (Mark) Hansen of Browns Valley; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Kleindl and Amanda Sykora of Browns Valley; brother, Mike (Geraldine) Lewandowski of Browns Valley; sister-in-law, Joy Lewandowski of Browns Valley; brother-in-law, Ed Lamers of Browns Valley; and many other relatives and in-laws.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; parents; daughter-in-law, Linda Serocki; great-granddaughter, Isabella Rose; two brothers, Jim and Leonard Lewandowski; and six sisters, Karda, Mary, Lillian, Joanne, Sophie and Alvina.
