Ronald J. Snyder, age 77, Fairmount, ND, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at his residence.

Memorial services will be Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairmount Community Center with Rev. Randy Spahr officiating. Music will be provided by Rick Snyder.

Military honors will be provided by the Milton C. Stevenson American Legion Post 106 of Fairmount.   Honorary urn bearers will be Jerry Broz, Dale Eggers, Brian Doll, Dick Ross, Adrian Snyder, Tom Hatter, Don Huls, and Doug Beery.

Ronald was born July 20, 1940, to John and Lorna (Wawers) Snyder in Breckenridge, MN. He attended school in Rosholt, graduating from Rosholt High School in 1958. After finishing school, he served in the U.S. Navy from July 14, 1958 to August 14, 1962.

On October 29, 1962, Ron married Kathy Doll in Wheaton, MN. Ron was employed by Nick Walrath doing plumbing and heating in Wheaton. They then moved to Crookston, MN, where he again worked in plumbing and heating. In 1964, Ron also worked for the federal government doing surveying. He later worked for the Bureau of Mines and the EPA for a total of 42 ½ years as a federal employee. In 1976, Ron and Kathy moved to Colorado. Ron retired in 2003 and on October 4, 2003, they moved to Fairmount.

Ron enjoyed traveling, motorcycling, working on vehicles and camping in the mountains of Colorado. He especially loved spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy of Fairmount; children, Julie (Doug) Beery of Littleton, CO, Jody Hatter of Highlands Ranch, CO, John (Sandy) Snyder of Rockwood, MI, and Rhonda (Don) Huls of Westminster, CO; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine (Jerry) Broz of Breckenridge, MN, and Jean (Dale) Eggers of Carrington, ND; two sisters-in-law, Joyce (Sherwin) Busche of Harwood, ND, and Mary Beyer of Fergus Falls, MN; and brothers-in-law, Robert Doll of Wheaton, MN, Brian Doll of Fergus Falls, and David Doll of Breckenridge.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; a great-granddaughter, Kiaya Campbell; brother-in-law, Leonard Beyer; and sister-in-law, Nyla Hermes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Red River Valley Hospice.
