Roger G. Hoxtell, 74, Clinton, MN, passed away Wednesday, December 27, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton with Minister Bev McNeill officiating. Music will be provided by organist Bonnie Stotesbery and vocalist Randy Stotesbery.
Burial will be in the Clinton City Cemetery. Honorary urn bearers will be former members of the Clinton Fire Department. Active urn bearers will be current members of the Clinton Fire Department.
Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Roger Gaylord Hoxtell was born September 2, 1943, to Wiley and Katie (Scott) Hoxtell in Graceville, MN. He attended rural school and Clinton High School. After finishing school, he worked with his father and brother in a well repair business and an excavating business. Roger was later employed at Berkner's Plumbing and Heating, Hillman Brothers Excavating, and Ronglien Excavating. After retiring in 2007, Roger helped farm at Weigman Farms. He also worked on the island in Big Stone Lake for Stattelman Lumber.
On April 20, 1963, Roger married Donna Dockter in Milbank, SD.
Roger enjoyed dancing, hunting, and tinkering with toys. He especially loved fishing with his sons and grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Donna of Clinton; sons, Dean (Margie) Hoxtell of Omaha, NE, Rob (Kay) Hoxtell of Alexandria, MN, and Scott Hoxtell of Upsala, MN; three grandchildren, Megan, Mitchell and Clara; and sisters, Dorothy Norden of Sartell, MN, Katherine Hoxtell of Clinton, and Diane (Benny) Basta of Clinton.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Kayla; sisters, Lucille and Margie; and brothers, Dan and Donald.
The family of Roger would like to thank everyone for the love and support shown to us during the loss of our beloved husband, dad, grandpa and brother. Thanks to everyone who sent flowers, food, cards, and memorials and for all of the prayers and kind words.
