Robert Ray Kippen was born February 24, 1941, in Bottineau, ND, to John and Hazel (Harrison) Kippen. He grew up and attended grade school in Omemee, ND, and graduated from Bottineau High School in 1959. After finishing school, he went to school in Fargo to become an electrician.
In 1960, Feller married Merley "Sis" Thompson in Willow City, ND. To this union three children were born – Robyn, Bob, and Mary. After their marriage, Feller worked as an electrician. He built the Red Owl Grocery Store in Bottineau. Later he joined his dad and brother Gary working on the family farm. Feller operated his own sawmill and harvested his own wood for woodworking projects. Every piece had a wheat head and stem.
Feller served on the Bottineau School Board for many years.
With a heavy heart, heaven gained a hard-core Yankee fan today. As a good friend said . . . Love one another as long as you can as life is precious! Rest in peace, Feller!
Survivors include his children, Robyn Kippen of Colorado Springs, CO, and Mary (Greg) Sykora of Beardsley; granddaughters, Megan, Heather, Jenna, Nicole, Brittany, Courtany, and Kassidy; and five great-granddaughters.
Feller was preceded in death by his wife, Sis in 2008; son, Bob in 2014; and his best buddy, Chico.
