Renata E. Fellbaum, age 90, New Effington, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, MN.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Claire City officiated by Rev. Nathanael Biberdorf. Music will be provided by Edwin Arndt, Jr., and Curt Brownlee.
Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Claire City. Honorary pallbearers will be Nikki Elliott, Amber Kemnitz, Olivia Elliott, Axel Elliott, Tyler Sutton, Owen Kemnitz, Leo Kemnitz, Mia Sutton, Dylan Fellbaum and Jack Fellbaum. Active pallbearers will be Michael Sutton, Josh Fellbaum, Cody Fellbaum, Jess Elliott, Joel Kemnitz and Mark Vedder.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt and will continue Wednesday morning one hour prior to the service at the church.
Renata Esther Trittin was born August 30, 1933, in Duerr Township, Richland County, ND, to Robert and Adelheid (Steffens) Trittin. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Lidgerwood, ND.
Renata was united in marriage to Sherman Fellbaum on October 27, 1953. To this union they were blessed with three children, Debbie, Paul and Warren. Sherman and Renata made their home north of Hammer, SD, where they farmed, raised cattle and hogs for 50+ years.
Renata became a member of Zion Lutheran Church, rural Claire City, SD, where she was active in the choir and the LWML. She also participated in the Christian Women's Club in Sisseton. Renata and Sherman shared a loving marriage for 59 years until his death in 2013.
Many of Renata's hobbies include gardening, canning, cooking, baking, making wagon wheel rugs, coloring and fishing. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by her family that she leaves behind.
Renata is survived by her children, Debbie (Terry) Sutton of Sisseton and Warren (Vicky) Fellbaum of New Effington; five grandchildren, Nikki (Jess) Elliott, Amber (Joel) Kemnitz, Michael Sutton, Josh Fellbaum and Cody (Sarah) Fellbaum; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Sharon Kinden of Columbia, MO.
Renata was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman; her son, Paul; her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law; one brother and one sister in infancy; four sisters; five brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
