Reinhard "Buzz" Krone

Reinhard "Buzz" Krone, age 95, died on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Eventide Sheyenne Crossing after battling COVID.

Buzz was born on November 2nd, 1925 to Louis and Caroline (Gronau) of rural Veblen, SD. He was drafted in 1944 and proudly served in Okinawa as a US Navy Seabee where he learned how to operate heavy machinery.

On June 30th, 1951 he married Mavis Christiansen in Browns Valley, MN. They resided in Browns Valley until 2017 and then moved to West Fargo. Buzz and Mavis were blessed with four children: Roger, Rick, Colleen and Steve. Buzz worked various jobs in his career including heavy equipment operator and commercial fisherman. He also worked for the city of Browns Valley and the Browns Valley grain elevator.  He volunteered as a fireman, EMT, was a member of the American Legion and was an active member of Zion Lutheran church.

Buzz had several hobbies and interests including fishing at his cabin, hunting, gardening, playing cards, dancing, snowmobiling, wood working, tying bobber stoppers and loved spending time with family.

Buzz was preceded in death by his parents: Louis and Caroline Krone; his in-laws: Olga and Soren Christiansen and Nels Larsen; brothers: Louis Jr (Lyla) Krone, his twin Reinhold "Red" (Elsie) Krone, and Ottmar "Marty" Krone; in-laws: Elsa (Snook) Kunkle, Ruth (David) Cowles, Gladys (Wally) Nelson, Millie (Ray Serocki, Tom Sullivan), and Agnes (Curt) Tuff.

Buzz is survived by his wife Mavis; children: Roger (Faye) Krone of Mobridge, SD, Rick (Pat) Krone of Dilworth, MN, Colleen (Chuck) Wehri of West Fargo, ND, and Steve (Chickie) Krone of West Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Toby (Heather) Krone of Moorhead, MN, Chris (Kari) Wehri of West Fargo, ND, and Kim Solseth of West Fargo, ND; great grandchildren: Grace, Ethan, Cobe, Caleb and Henry; sisters-in-law: Elaine and June Krone; and many nieces and nephews.
