Regina "Gina" Thomas

Regina "Gina" Thomas, 83, Rosholt, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Countryside Inn Assisted Living Center in Rosholt, with her husband and family by her side. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral Mass will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Rosholt with Father Gregg Frankman officiating. Music will be provided by organist Lana Sand, and vocalists, Jasmine Swartz and Sheree Hogan.

Burial will be in the St. Nicholas Cemetery, rural Rosholt. Honorary pallbearers will be the loving staff of Countryside Inn. Active pallbearers will be Shane Thomas, Travis Thomas, Justin Thomas, Kris Braaten, Adam Braaten, and Tyler Braaten.

Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Rosholt.

Regina June Thomas was born June 3, 1934 in Tenney, Minnesota, to Joe and Agnes (Koziol) Keller. She lived in Tintah, Minnesota for 20 years before she married Sylvester (Vessy) Thomas. They were united in marriage on August 24, 1954 at St. Galls Church in Tintah Minnesota. They have been happily married for 63 years.

While Vessy was enlisted in the army they lived in Fort Benning, Georgia. After their first son was born, they moved to the family farm in Rosholt, South Dakota, and lived there for 60 years. For the last year they have resided at Countryside Inn Assisted Living in Rosholt, SD. Gina was a devoted member of St. John's church in Rosholt. She loved to crotchet/ knit, cook, farm, and garden. She would always have snacks and coffee ready for whoever stopped over. She made the best oyster stew that anyone could ever have (if you like it). She liked to can and make sauerkraut. Gina will be remembered for all the great times and memories she had with everyone.

Gina is survived by (her husband) Vessy Thomas of Rosholt, SD, (her children) Larry Thomas of Rosholt, SD, Vicky (Jeff) Braaten of Hankinson, ND, Billy (Cindy) Thomas of Rosemount, MN, Lenny (Carol) Thomas of Rosholt, SD, and Brian (Angie) Thomas of San Antonio TX, 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, (her sisters) Tillie Anne of Breckenridge, MN, Eleanor Olson of Wendell, MN, Mary (Ralph) Carlson of Elbow Lake, MN, and Audrey (Clayton) Johnson of Fergus Falls, MN, (her brothers) Toby (Janice) Keller of River Falls, WI, Cyril Keller of Fergus Falls, MN, and Edward Keller of Perham, MN.

Gina was preceded in death by her beloved children Jeanne and Wayne Thomas, siblings; Dorothy Michels, Louis Keller, Grace Georgen, Rita Lehman, Irene Helsene, and Janice Schillinger.
