Randy L. Johnson

Randy Lee Johnson, 58, West Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully surrounded with love from his family on Saturday, December 31, 2016, at Essentia Health in Fargo.

The funeral will be Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Lutheran Church, rural Rosholt, SD. At Randy's request, you are encouraged to wear Harley attire or casual dress. Officiant will be Rev. Suzanne Benidt. Music will be provided by organist Lana Sand and vocalists Mikki Braun and Andy Brelu-Brelu.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremiah Johnson, Thayne Johnson, Naomi Johnson Braun, Laurie Johnson, Brian Johnson, Keith Johnson, Donald Seeley, Chuck Kessler, Jon Roeder, Robert Keppler and Loran Braun.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 3, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home, Rosholt, SD.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Lankin, ND, at a later date.

Randy was born August 3, 1958, in Breckenridge, MN, the oldest of five siblings, to Alden and Virginia "Ginger" (Seeley) Johnson. He was raised on the family farm south of Rosholt, was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Lutheran Church and attended Rosholt High School, graduating in 1976.

Randy worked in the Rosholt/Wheaton area for several years driving semi-truck/trailers. Randy married Dawn Hess from Wheaton, MN. They had two sons, Jeremiah and Thayne. After working in Idaho and California, Randy moved to Fargo, ND, working for Lake Valley Trucking, Prairie Lines, Inc., and Paradis Trucking – where he was currently employed.

Randy married Gayle Dub in Fargo, ND, on May 7, 2004. They most appreciated spending time with family and friends, often riding their Harleys to visit and attend events. When not on the road, you could find Randy watching NASCAR, obsessively learning from the Food Network channel and the Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction show. During fall, Randy loved to return to the farm to help with harvest. They took frequent motorcycle trips with friends and vacationed in Dominican Republic, Steamboat Springs CO, Milwaukee WI, Duluth MN, Omaha NE, Montana, and Wyoming. While not on the road trucking, Randy spent numerous hours spoiling their two cats, Harley and Peanut.

Randy is survived by his soulmate Gayle of West Fargo; two sons, Jeremiah (Erica) and their children, August and Lilly, Fargo, ND; Thayne (Sarah) and their children, Bella and Oliver of Wheaton, MN; siblings, Naomi Johnson Braun of Wahpeton, ND, Laurie Johnson (Bruce Gunderson) of Arlington, SD, Brian (Diane) Johnson of Rosholt, SD, and Keith Johnson of Wahpeton, ND; an aunt, Lucien Hack of La Quinta, CA; an uncle, Donald (Janice) Seeley of Las Vegas, NV; mother-in-law Edith Dub of Fordville, ND; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony (MaryAnn) Dub of Coos Bay, OR, Gary Dub of Grand Forks, ND, Gene (Rosanne) Dub of Grand Forks, ND, Nancy Davidson of North Bend, OR, Don Dub of Grand Forks, ND, Julie (Darrell) Conely of East Grand Forks, MN, and Cheryl Dub of Grand Forks, ND; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
