Pearl J. Issendorf, age 97, Clinton, MN, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Grace Home in Graceville, MN.
Memorial services will be Thursday, October 4, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Graceville with Rev. Eugene Andrus officiating. Music will be provided by organist Ruth Hoffman.
Visitation will be Thursday morning one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery, Ortonville, MN. Urn bearers will be Pearl's grandchildren ~ Kris, Gretta, Troy, Trent, Travis, Michelle, Laurie, Londa, Dillon, Dalton, Traci, Jeremy, Adam, Sarah, Stacey, and Thomas John. The Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt, SD, is in charge of the arrangements.
Pearl Joyce was born September 12, 1921, to Oliver Tilden and Emma Ruth (Kay) Oberholtzer on a farm near Beardsley, MN. She attended the Methodist church in Beardsley. She graduated from Ortonville High School in 1940. After her mother passed away, Pearl stayed at home to take care of her father and brother.
In 1944, Pearl met Floyd Issendorf at a dance in Ortonville. They were married February 7, 1945, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Graceville. To this union six children were born - Keenan, Kevin, Gail, Lee, Dawn, and Steven. Pearl was a baker at the Red Owl and later Bill's Super Valu in Ortonville for many years. Floyd passed away November 6, 2008.
In 1945 Pearl was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Pearl joined the Ladies Aid, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school for over twenty years. She retired at the age of 65.
In her spare time, Pearl loved to bake, raise flowers, and visit her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Keenan (Kathy) Issendorf of Alexandria, MN, Kevin (Betty) Issendorf of Litchfield, MN, Gail (Jeanine) Issendorf of Clinton, MN, Lee Issendorf of Milbank, SD, Dawn (Randy) Wacker of Big Lake, MN, and Steven (Twila) Issendorf of Cokato, MN; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; 3 sisters; 2 brothers, and great-grandchild, Riley Rae.
