Pat C. Greseth, 65, Veblen, SD, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at the Rosholt Care Center, Rosholt, SD.     Funeral services were Thursday, May 6, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Veblen with Rev. Mindy Baker and Rev. Harold Watrous officiating. Music was provided by organist Edwin Arndt, Jr. and vocalist Matthew Greseth.     Burial was in the Veblen Community Cemetery, Veblen. Honorary pallbearers were Pat's kyds, grandchildren, godchildren Calvin Ceroll, Shauna Kuglin and Brenda Rook, all of Pat's friends, and former foreign exchange students Hulya Kaya, Thiago Paggiano, and Ge Song. Active Pallbearers were Dayle Haaland, Calvin Ceroll, Rodney Ceroll, Bryon Kuglin, Randy Fauth, Darin Yammerino, Butch Greseth, and Roy Jundt.     Visitation was Wednesday, May 5, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt.     Patricia Carole was born December 25, 1944, in Graceville, MN, to Rudolph and Alice (Schneider) Schmitz. She was baptized into the Christian faith at Parnell Lutheran Church, rural Wheaton, and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Claire City. As a youngster she grew up along the Minnesota side of Lake Traverse on Spafford Beach. In 1955, the family moved to a farm northeast of Claire City, and she graduated from New Effington High School in 1962.     On August 27, 1965, Pat married Tom Greseth at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Claire City. After their marriage, they lived in Aberdeen where Pat worked in the banking business. They moved to McLaughlin in 1967 and owned and operated Shady Lane Drive Inn. Pat also served as a secretary at the McLaughlin Sales Barn. In 1977, Pat and Tom moved to rural Claire City and Pat was employed as a quilter at Dakotah in Veblen. In 1989, Pat began cooking at Area 4 Nutrition where she cooked for 17 ½ years. She also did some catering in the area. Pat retired in 2006.     Pat was a member of the Veblen Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She was also a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader, 4-H leader and School Board President. Pat received the Head Start Mother of the Year award and with her husband received the Den Leader of the Year award.     Pat enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking. She was famous for her potato salad, angel food cake, and doughnuts. Pat especially loved spending time with family.     Survivors include her husband, Tom Greseth of Veblen; five children, Carole (Gary Mack) Greseth of Aberdeen, SD, Carin (Eric) Kassa of Wahpeton, ND, Jon Greseth of Brookings, SD, Leo (Tara) Greseth of Lidgerwood, ND, and Carmen Greseth of Wahpeton, ND; six grandchildren, Carelyn Greseth, Dale Greseth, Chesney Greseth, Lachlan Kassa, Lily Greseth and Davyn Kassa; a brother, Scott (Allison) Schmitz of Aberdeen; an uncle, Wilbert "Sonny" (Margaret) Schneider of Wheaton, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.     Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Rudy Schmitz; a sister, Ruth Ceroll; two siblings in infancy; and her mother and father-in-law.
