Pam Bohn

Pam Bohn, age 77, Browns Valley, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo from a stroke she had on Wednesday.

A funeral service for family and friends will be held Saturday, August 17, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at a later date in the New Effington Community Cemetery.

Pamela Jean Bohn was born September 17, 1946, in New Effington, SD, to John "Jack" and Myrtle (Warner) Ringsaker.  Pam grew up in New Effington where she attended grade school and graduated from high school in 1964.  Pam moved to Sioux Falls where she met and married her first husband Dale Bolte on September 25, 1965.  Dale had five children with a previous marriage - Cheryl, Allen, Laurie, Tim and Terry.   Pam took on the responsibility of being a mom right away raising Dale's five children.  One year later, Pam had a daughter Michelle and then another year later she had Melissa.  By the time Pam was 21, she had seven children under the age of 10.  Pam loved being a mom and grandma.  Pam also helped Dale run the family garbage business. She did all the office work by herself until her daughter Melissa joined the family business in 1999.  Pam did all the books the old-fashioned way by pen and paper until she finally gave in to getting a computer in 1998.  Pam retired from the business in 2005.

Pam met Rick Bohn and they traveled a little bit from 2005 to 2007 then settled down at their lake home on Lake Traverse, SD.  They were married on September 20, 2008.  Pam loved the lake life relaxing and watching out for people.  Pam loved to cook and would cook enough for an army. Pam enjoyed Sundays; that's when her brother Larry would come down and spend the day. Everyone thought Pam and Larry were twins.  Plus a lot of other relatives would stop by.  Everyone was always welcome. Pam always loved angels and had been collecting them for some time. Pam started to collect gnomes and loved anything gnome.  Pam had a soft spot for animals and loved to feed the stray cats.  She also had a green thumb and enjoyed her plants.

Pam is survived by her husband of 15 years, Richard of Browns Valley, MN; her children, Michelle Bolte of Joplin, MO, Melissa (Doug) Nordman of Lennox, SD, Tim Bolte of Sioux Falls, SD, Terry Bolte of Sioux Falls, Cheryl (Brian) Abbas of Worthing, SD, Allen (Karen) Bolte of Lennox, and Laurie (Gerald) Cressman of Hartford, SD; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Dawn Ringsaker of Kansas City, MO; Richard's Children, Jeremy (Shannon) Bohn of Rockwall, TX,  Lisa (Mike) Wilson of Lewisville, TX,  and Joshua (Chelsea) Bohn of Jefferson, GA; sisters-in-law, Janice Ringsaker of Rosholt, Barb (Joe) Weisenbach of Worthing, SD, Julie Thompson of Eagar, AZ, Marilyn (Rick) Peterson of Sumner, IA, Lynne (Ken) Tschetter of Naples, FL, and Gloria McEnary of Mexico; many nieces, nephews, and friends; and a grandpuppy, Diesel.
