Neoma Jean (Franklin) Ballhagen, treasured daughter of Orvyl and Anna (Vosberg) Franklin, was born November 27, 1947, in Graceville, MN. For her 5th birthday, Neoma received her prized piano from her parents and she learned to play. She attended country school in Lake Township, where her mother was her teacher. Being an only child, Neoma was her parent's pride and joy, truly. Neoma graduated from high school in 1966.
Neoma was united in marriage to Darvin Ballhagen on September 25, 1965, in Wilmot, and they resided near Beardsley, MN. In 1967, they purchased property in Lake Township, where they raised a family and built a farm life for themselves. Neoma was a devoted partner to Darvin, working side by side with him. She was a nurturing mother to her children, and her grandchildren were the sparkle in her eyes.
Neoma was a lifelong and faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Wilmot where she was an accomplished musician, being an organist and pianist for over 40 years.
Neoma's greatest joy was being with her family. She enjoyed quilting, yard work, and spending time outdoors. Her acts of kindness and genuine attitude reflected her deep faith, whether it was a phone call, visit, handwritten note of encouragement or fresh baked goods. Neoma love entertaining family and friends. She always put other's needs before her own, never complaining.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, Darvin; her children, Chad Ballhagen, Brenda (Todd) Seehafer, and Heidi (Robert) Pelzel; and her grandchildren, Danielle and Brady Seehafer and Micah and Kammi Pelzel.
Neoma was preceded in death by her son, Darby; and parents, Orvyl and Anna.
