Neil Willis Weeks was born April 16, 1949, in Browns Valley, MN, to Willis and Shirley (Williams) Weeks.  He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Browns Valley.  He attended school in Browns Valley and graduated in 1967. He then took courses at Lake Area Vocational Technical School in Watertown, SD.

On June 13, 1970, Neil married the love of his life, Susan Erickson, at the Peever Lutheran Church. They spent 51 years together.  They were blessed with two children, Chad and Jodi.

Throughout the early years, Neil worked on various construction jobs, while working part time on his true passion of farming and raising livestock.  In 1991, he had the privilege of being the third generation to operate the family farm. Neil and Susie continued farming until his retirement in 2011.

Beyond Neil's love for farming was his love of sports. Neil was an avid sports fan (wrestling being his favorite.)  He had a gift to visit with anyone and everyone.  Neil enjoyed playing cards . . . and played to win!  His biggest passion of all was spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them in all their activities.  He rarely missed an event his kids or grandkids were involved in . . . he was always their #1 fan!

Neil is survived by his wife Susan of 51 years; son, Chad (Nancy) Weeks of Rogers, MN, daughter, Jodi (Mark) Dykstra of Sisseton, SD; five grandchildren, Chelsea, Tyce, and Ashlyn Hansen, and Morgan and Carter Weeks; three step-grandchildren, Eric, Victoria, and Tessa; three great-grandchildren, Kinzie, Ryker, and Kylin; sisters, Lois (Marlow) Aadland, Ruth (Alan) Kotzea, Jill Weeks, Gail (Larry) Bosma, and Jane Ayala; sisters-in-law, Gayle Lotzer, Judy (Roger) Crooks, Sandra (Elroy) Madsen, Glenda (Randy) Rudebusch, and Carol (Kent) Nielsen; brothers-in-law, Mervin (Betty) Erickson, and Elmer Wren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Shirley Weeks; mother and father-in-law, Erling and Lillian Erickson; brother-in-law, Raymond Erickson; and sister-in-law, Janice Wren.
