Michelle Peterson, 50, Rosholt, SD, formerly of Madison, MN, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at her home.
A Celebration of Life was Tuesday, June 16, at 10:00 a.m. at St Michael's Catholic Church in Madison.
Visitation was Monday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Zahrbock Funeral Home in Madison. Visitation continued from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church with a prayer service at 7:00. Visitation continued Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Michelle Rae (Bormann) Peterson was born on December 15, 1964 to parents Marvin (Marv) and Kathryn (Kay) (Lund) Bormann in Madison, MN. She was baptized in Christ at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Madison, MN and was also confirmed at St. Michael's. Michelle attended the St. Michael's Catholic School in Madison through the 5th grade. She then attended school in Madison and graduated in 1983. Michelle attended Willmar Vo-Tech and graduated as a Human Service Technician in May of 1984.
She was united in marriage in May of 1985 to Tom Peterson. To this union two daughters were born. Alexandra (Alex) Peterson and Jamie Peterson. Michelle worked as a medical technician at the Madison Lutheran Home for two years. She then worked at REM in Canby, MN.
Michelle went back to college in 1992 and graduated from Willmar Community College with an Associate Degree in Biology and then transferred to the University of Minnesota -Morris graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. With her love of wanting to help people, she continued her education at the University of South Dakota Medical School Vermillion and graduated as a Physician Assistant in 1999. After graduation, Michelle found employment in Wheaton, MN for 10 years. She transferred to a clinic in Sisseton, SD in 2009 and due to health problems, retired in August of 2014.

In life, Michelle's love was her daughters, parents, siblings and the rest of her family, her many friends, working outside with flowers, and especially her dog Bently.
Death came to Michelle on June 10, 2015 due to Crohn's disease. She had reached the age of 50 years 5 months and 25 days.
Left to cherish all of Michelle's memories are her two daughters, Alex Peterson of Vermillion, SD, Jamie Peterson of Rosholt, SD, her mother, Kay Bormann of Madison, MN, 2 sisters, Deniese and Rolly Erp of Morris, MN, Renae and Michael Bussen of Bangor, PA, 2 brothers, Tim and Patty Bormann of Morris, MN, and Dann and Stacey Bormann of Waunakee, WI and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Michelle was preceded in death by her father Marvin (Marv) in 2003 and infant sister Mary Kathryn, grandparents Alphonse and Marie (Bauler) Bormann and Vernon and Berniece (Sillerude) Lund.
