Martin Charles Fuhrman was born January 23, 1934, to William and Hilda (Zimmerman) Fuhrman. He was baptized and confirmed in Christ at Trinity Lutheran Church in Johnson. He was an active member there until his passing.

Martin grew up on the family farm. He attended Trinity Lutheran School in Johnson until the eighth grade. He then entered the West Central Ag School in Morris to finish his high school education, graduating in 1953. After high school, Martin was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was stationed at Fort Hood, TX, where he served as a mechanic. After his time in the service, he began work in the farm industry at Plainview, MN, as a mechanic at the IH dealer. In 1957, he moved back to the Johnson area and worked at Hoffman Implement and began farming.

Martin married Georgeanne Hagen in 1958, and to this union two sons were born, William and Wayne. Martin and Georgeanne and sons lived and worked on the farm. Martin's love for farming and hard work carried over to his sons and grandchildren, who still own and operate the farm today.

In retirement, Martin and Georgeanne loved to travel and would winter in Yuma, AZ. They moved to Graceville in 2007 as their health was deteriorating. In January of 2019, Martin moved to Grace Home until he met his Savior.

Martin's family and friends knew him as a strong patriarch, yet a giving and fun-loving man. Some would say Martin liked to play as hard as he worked. Martin loved to socialize and play the drums. His love of music led him to be the drummer in a band, The Jimmy Douglas Band.

Martin will be missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Georgeanne; sons, William (Jean) Fuhrman of Beardsley, MN, and Wayne Fuhrman of Graceville; grandchildren, Cory (Nicole) Fuhrman of Graceville, Aaron (Sara) Fuhrman of Graceville, Marc Fuhrman of Carlos, MN, and Kara (Ryan) Schmidt of Shakopee, MN; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Peyton, Michael, JJ, Owen, and Nora; brother, Eugene Fuhrman of Graceville; sister-in-law, Bette Lust of Graceville; and many extended family.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hilda; brothers, Donald and Wilbur; and sisters-in-law, Marianne and Jane.

The family asks everyone who remembers Martin to celebrate his life in their own way; raising a glass of their favorite drink in his memory.

The family expresses great appreciation to the Trinity Lutheran Church members, Essentia Health and Grace Home staff and caregivers, Graceville Legion, Eggers Funeral Home, and family and friends.
