Mark Schultz

Mark D. Schultz died peacefully at the Sanford Medical Center surrounded by his loving family on March 27, 2024, in Fargo, ND at the age of 51.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 5th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Claire City.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mark Dean Schultz was born on June 19, 1972, to Delas and Sheila (Medenwald) Schultz in Sioux Falls, SD.  Mark attended school in Claire City and went on to further his education at Southwestern Vocational Technical Institute in Canby, MN, with a degree in Diesel Mechanics.  Mark was a proud cattle owner, devoted many years of automotive and trucking services to the Roberts County community, and was passionate about the quality of work he provided.

Mark's true love (aside from his family) was refurbishing classic cars, playing cards, being with friends, and watching NASCAR.

Mark was preceded in death by parents, Sheila (Medenwald) and Delas Schultz of Claire City; aunt, Sylvia (Medenwald) Ceroll; uncle, Ron Ceroll; and loving cousin, Daren Ceroll.

Mark is survived by his fiance, Lisa Koch; six children, Tia (Nick) Kahler, Mackenzie (Bryce) Ceroll, Sadee (Josh) Church, Sidney Alvstad, Makayla Vrchota, and Trever Schultz; grandchild, Everley; two siblings, Kevyn (Jen) Schultz of Veblen, SD and Kent Schultz of Claire City; and nieces and nephews.

His children will remember him as a headstrong, witty father who always tried his best to prepare his children for the world that lay ahead of them.

The family would like to thank the Sanford Medical Center staff for their care and help.

With a heavy heart, Mark asks that all friend and family celebrate the time spent together during a get-together bonfire this summer in his honor.
