Mark R. Miller

Mark R. Miller, 62, Browns Valley, MN, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019, in his home.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Browns Valley, with Rev. Abigail Ozanne officiating.  Music will be provided by organist Ginny Westbrock and vocalists Sue Sykora and Stacey Borgheiinck.

Burial will be at a later date in the Valley View Cemetery, Browns Valley.  Honorary pallbearers will be Mark's grandkids – Hailey, Jaxson, Jaynie and William - and all of his family and friends.  Active pallbearers will be Terry Miller, Phil Jarman, Steve Krone, Mark Schwagel, Josh Kraft, Mike Tolifson, and Pat Sullivan.

Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Mark Riley Miller was born July 21, 1956, to Donald and Shirley Ione (Ward) Miller in Browns Valley, MN.  He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Browns Valley and confirmed at Siloah Lutheran Church, rural Graceville, MN.  Mark attended school in Browns Valley, graduating from Browns Valley High School in 1974.

On August 29, 1981, Mark married Hazel Lorraine Kruger at Siloah Lutheran Church, rural Graceville.  He was a carpenter and millwright at Union Construction Local 548 in Minneapolis, MN.  Later he was an estimating and design sales manager at Britton Lumber and Home Center in Britton, SD.

Mark was a member of Siloah Lutheran Church and joined the United Methodist Presbyterian Church in 2018.

Mark was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching and feeding the birds, especially the hummingbirds.  He liked gardening, canning produce, smoking meats on his smoker and baking bread.  Mark loved motorcycles, cars and watching NASCAR cheering for Ford.   He enjoyed campfires at the house and countless hours of storytelling with friends.  Mark read countless books and loved binge-watching Netflix series while holding hands with Hazel on the couch.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel of Browns Valley; children, Danielle (Casey) Lesmeister of Morris, MN, and Andrew (Janessa) Miller of Browns Valley; four grandchildren, Hailey, Jaxson, Jaynie and William Lesmeister; brother, Glenn (KoKo) Miller of Eagle Bend, MN; mother-in-law, Carrie Joyce Kruger; brother-in-law, Tom Schoenrock; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janice Schoenrock; and father-in-law, Paul Kruger.
