Marian H. Malm, 96, Rosholt, SD, formerly of Wheaton, MN, died Friday, May 11, 2012, at the Rosholt Care Center.
Funeral services were Monday, May 14, at 2:00 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt with Rev. Tim Shekleton officiating. Music was provided by organist Lana Sand.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery, rural Rosholt. Pallbearers were Dan Akerson, Mark Pearson, Ted Horning, Darrel Johnson, and Cecil Stangeland.
Visitation was Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Marian Helen Malm, daughter of John and Mary (Pearson) Malm, was born November 17, 1915, in Rosholt. She was baptized on June 19, 1916, at St. Joseph Lutheran Church in rural Rosholt. She moved with her family to White Rock, SD, where they operated a cream station and later a gas station. She was also a waitress at Welton's Café.
Later Marian moved to Wheaton and worked at the Standard Café. She lived in Wheaton with her brother Walter, and after his passing she moved into the elderly apartments. She enjoyed her friends there and also going to the Senior Center. Marian was a member of Bethlehem Covenant Church in Wheaton.
In May of 2007, Marian moved "back home" to Rosholt to the Countryside Inn. There she enjoyed making things, playing cards and playing games. She recently made the Rosholt Care Center her home.
We will remember Marian for her smile, wit and her favorite saying, "So be it."
Marian was preceded in death by her sisters, Ethel and Viola; brothers, Walter and Bertel; and sister-in-law, Myrtle.
Survivors include numerous cousins.
