Margaret M. Billiet

Margaret M. Billiet, 89, Graceville, MN, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at Grace Home in Graceville.

Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, December 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville with Father David Breu officiating. Music was provided by organist Deb Farwell and vocalists the Arens sisters.

Burial was in the Graceville Consolidated Cemetery, Graceville. Urn bearers were Shaun Billiet and Eric Andrews.

Visitation was Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the church in Graceville. Visitation continued Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Margaret Mary (Kleindl) Billiet was born August 24, 1925, to John and Margaret (Ehrnst) Kleindl in Barry, MN. She was the eighth child of eleven children. She was baptized at St. Barnabus Catholic Church in Barry. She attended grade school in Barry, high school at St. Mary's Academy in Graceville, and graduated from Graceville High School in 1946. On October 12, 1948, Margaret was married to Gordon Billiet at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville. To this union three children were born, James, Dennis and Karen.

In her lifetime, besides being a wonderful wife and mother, Margaret also worked at the Graceville Telephone Office, the Coast to Coast Store and at Grace Home in Graceville. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 57 years and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She loved to work in her flower gardens. She always had time for her family and her friends. She especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When she moved to Grace Village in 2007, she got a motorized scooter and the great-grandkids loved it when she took them for a ride and they could toot the horn. She was a very sweet little lady; all the little kids used to stand by her and compare their size with her.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Karen (Scott) Andrews of Johnson, MN; two sons, James Billiet of Sherburn, MN, and Dennis (Becky) Billiet of Sergeant Bluff, IA; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren with two more coming in 2015 ~ Shaun Billiet (Dawn Lund), Kylen; Carla (Mike) Hoekstra, Annaliese, Carver and Christian; Mike (Jodi) Billiet, Isaac and Sonia all of Sioux City, IA; Stacy (Alex) Olson of Dakota Dunes, SD; Eric (Jennifer) Andrews, Alaina, Brayden and Ava; Daniel (Becky) Andrews, Landen and Hannah of Johnson; and Kevin (Carrie) Andrews of Moorhead, MN; two step granddaughters, Tiffany Groskruetz of Coon Rapids, MN, and Trisha (Bobby) Hoeller and two step great-grandsons Mason and Parker of Albertville, MN; one sister, Theresa Petersdorf of Cannon Falls, MN; one brother, Lawrence Kleindl of Clinton, MN; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Kleindl of Graceville, Margaret Kirkey of Alexandria, MN, and Lavonne Billiet of Minneapolis; one brother-in-law, Wayne Billiet of Graceville; and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon in March 1999; parents, John and Margaret; father and mother-in-law, Carl and Jessie Billiet; seven brothers, Wilbert, Clarence, Francis, Alvin, John, Edward, and Joseph; one sister, Rose Wenzel; and an infant brother and sister.
