Luke Stephen was born July 5, 1977, in Breckenridge, MN, to Steve and Sue (Bilben) Arneson. Luke attended school at Rosholt Elementary and graduated from Rosholt High School in 1995. In 1997, Luke welcomed into the world his beautiful daughter Katlyn, and in 1999 beloved son Ethan was born. Throughout the years, Luke worked at different sales jobs where his infectious smile and charm always guaranteed him success. Recently Luke had started doing what he always loved to do, in the place he always loved to be, helping operate the family farm side by side with his father and his brother Jim.
Luke was a social butterfly; he always had to be on the go somewhere bringing joy, smiles and laughter to everyone he encountered along the way. He loved spending time with his family and there weren't many things he did without his brothers Jim and Eric by his side. Luke always knew he could turn to his big brother Bob for loving, brotherly advice and always had a blast spending time with him, especially at the annual Chicken Lickin' Festival. He also spent plenty of time with his little sisters, Stephanie and Lori, and he loved and looked out for them their entire lives like no other big brother could.
Nothing brought Luke more pride and joy than his children Katlyn and Ethan, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Luke's heart of gold will live on forever through them. Luke was amazing with children. If there was a kid around they would cling to Luke and he was guaranteed to make that kid's day. He loved his nieces Haylee, Heather, Autumn, and Allison and his nephew Ayden with all his heart, and they loved him just as much. He spent a lot of time laughing, playing and being a big kid with them, and their faces lit up at the sight of him.
Luke was a huge fan of Chicago Bears football. He also loved playing Cities softball and all the good times with his teammates. He loved being outdoors, playing Texas Hold Em Poker and shooting pool.
Luke is survived by his parents, Steve and Sue Arneson of Rosholt; daughter, Katlyn Arneson and son, Ethan Arneson of Sioux Falls, SD; brothers, Bob (Kristy) Hovanec and their daughters Haylee and Heather of Lake Park, MN, Jim (Ashley) Arneson and their son Ayden and daughter Allison of Rosholt, Eric (Tina) Arneson and Baby A of Rosholt; sisters, Stephanie (Darus) Ehlers of Wheaton, MN, and Lori (Dillen Rikimoto) Arneson and her daughter Autumn of Rosholt; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends too numerous to name that he held so dear.
Waiting to welcome Luke with open arms above are his paternal grandparents, Luther and Betty Arneson; maternal grandparents, Elvin and Betty Bilben; and his godparents, Uncle Elvin Bilben and Aunt Connie Birchem.
