Lloyd E. Fellbaum

Lloyd E. Fellbaum, 78, of New Effington, SD, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at the Countryside Inn Assisted Living in Rosholt, SD.     Funeral services were Friday, August 27, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church at rural Claire City, SD, with Rev. Joseph E. Crosswhite III officiating. Music was provided by organist Diane Bartnick.     Burial was in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Sam Rudolph, Tom Leverson, Samuel Arndt, Paul Arndt, Sherman Fellbaum and Helmuth Henke, Jr. Active pallbearers were Tim Rossow, Terry Rudolph, Brian Leverson, Tim Leverson, Warren Fellbaum, and Clint Arndt.     Visitation was Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt, SD. Visitation continued Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.     Lloyd Edwin was born on December 19, 1931, in rural New Effington to Edwin G. and Alma A. (Arndt) Fellbaum. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church and confirmed at Nidaros Lutheran Church in Hammer, SD. Lloyd attended country school in Minnesota Township and graduated from Sisseton High School in 1949.     Lloyd farmed with his father in the Hammer area for 35 years. In 1969, they moved into New Effington and continued to farm in the Hammer area. Lloyd retired from farming in 1991.     Lloyd enjoyed following the markets, watching news programs, fishing, listening to old-time music, and his extended family.     Survivors include numerous cousins.
