Lisa Jean (Kaufman) Meeker

Lisa Jean (Kaufman) Meeker, age 55, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018, after a long battle with cancer.

A private family burial will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Rosholt, SD.

Lisa was born June 17, 1963, to Dale and Joann (Homan) Kaufman, Sr. She graduated from Browns Valley High School in 1981. Shortly after her graduation, she moved to Phoenix, AZ. There she met her husband, James P. Meeker. To this union, they had their two sons, Joseph and Jonathan. They moved to Las Vegas, NV, and made their home. Jim passed away suddenly June 8, 2000. Lisa met a special friend, Roger Fortner, and thought of his family as if they were her own.

Lisa worked hard at her cleaning business, loved gardening and making things with wood like her grandfather, Sylvester Homan. She loved spending time with her boys and extended family.

Lisa is survived by her sons, Joseph (Ashley) Meeker and Jonathan Meeker both of Las Vegas, NV; special friend, Roger Fortner and his children and grandchildren, especially Jill (John) and their children Michael and Lana; father, Dale Kaufman, Sr., of St. James, MO; brothers and sisters, Dale (Cheryl) Kaufman, Jr., Wanda (Steve) Cornelius, Donna (Lee Rowland) Kaufman, Danny (Jennifer) Kaufman, Jana (Robert) Rugenstein, and Diana (Keith) Kugler; grandmother, Sally Homan; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Joann Kaufman; husband, James Meeker; paternal grandparents, Melvin and Edna Kaufman; and maternal grandfather, Sylvester Homan.
