LeRoy Wayne Wentland was born on April 10, 1935, at Ortonville, MN, to Edward and Nellie (Green) Wentland.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Beardsley.  LeRoy attended Sunnyside country school in Foster Township to the 8th grade and graduated in 1953 from Ortonville High School.  He served his country from 1953-1955 in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

LeRoy was a hard worker and did his best at whatever he put his hand to.  He managed filling stations in Ortonville and Austin, MN.  He was a laborer for farmers in North Dakota and Minnesota.  When his Dad died in 1962, he came home to help on the family farm.

LeRoy loved to fish, hunt, travel, wood working, gardening, cooking and helping others. His last job was fixing.  He had a welding truck with tools and supplies he needed to help area farmers with repairs for their tractors and farm equipment.

In 1983 LeRoy and his mother, Nellie, built a new house in Beardsley and lived there until 2022.  LeRoy took care of his mother until her death in 2011.  In 2022 he moved to Water's Edge Assisted Living in Clinton.  In 2023 he became a resident of Grace Home Nursing Home in Graceville.

LeRoy is survived by three brothers, Dallis, Roger (Sandy), and Gary (Deb); nine nieces and nephews; and many great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Edward and Nellie Wentland; grandparents, Wanton and Maude (Wical) Green and Herman and Anna (Biohn) Wentland; and his classmate, first cousin, and best friend, Duane Gustafson.
