Lawrence "Larry" J. Arens, 54, Graceville, MN, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, September 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville with Father David Breu officiating. Music will be provided by organist Deb Farwell and vocalists Chris Weick, Deb Stueve, Jean Costello, and Sandi Bauer.

Burial will be in the Graceville Consolidated Cemetery, Graceville. Pallbearers will be Jesse Weick, Greg Weick, Mike Weick, Nate Bauer, Ryan Costello and Matt Costello.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and will continue Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Lawrence James was born December 10, 1961, to Anthony and Beverly (Skoog) Arens in Graceville, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville. Larry attended school in Graceville and graduated from Graceville High School in 1980. After attending Willmar Vo-Tech for a year, Larry started farming with his father.

On April 25, 1992, Larry married Donna Holker at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville. In 2006, Larry started working as a rural mail carrier in Dumont.

Larry was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a lay presider at Grace Home. He enjoyed history, annual vacations, and creating and singing silly songs.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Graceville; son, Dan of Fargo; daughter, Lorra of Graceville; parents, Anthony and Beverly of Graceville; sisters, Pam (Pat) McDonald of St. Michael, MN, Christine (Marvin) Weick of Graceville, Deb (Terry) Stueve of Dumont, Jean (John) Costello of Graceville, and Sandi (Bob) Bauer of Clinton, MN; and brothers, Ron (Helena) Arens of Ashburn, VA, and Tom (Mary) Arens of Graceville.

Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Shelly Arens.
