Laurraine Wiegman

Laurraine Clara Wiegman, age 93, resident of Fergus Falls, MN – formerly of Graceville, MN – died on June 10, 2019, at Fergus Falls Lake Region Healthcare.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville with Father Brian Oestreich officiating. Music will be provided by organist Donna Arens and vocalists Deb Stueve, Sandi Bauer, Jean Costello, and Chris Weick.

Burial will be in the Graceville Consolidated Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Laurraine's grandchildren, Kelly Harris, Ryan McGill, Ross Wiegman, Stacy Waldner, Chad Wiegman, Toby Wiegman, Shawn Wiegman, Rome Wiegman, Tracie Haukos, Jason Jahnke, Adam Jahnke, Katie Wiegman, and Nickolaus Wiegman.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church and will continue Friday morning one hour prior to the service.

Laurraine Clara (Mich) Wiegman was born on March 11, 1926, on the family farm in Donnelly, MN, to Frank and Elfreada (Hildebrandt) Mich. She graduated from Morris High School and worked as a secretary, until her marriage.

On September 17, 1949, Laurraine was united in marriage with Delbert Wiegman. To this union, five children were born: Nancy, Jerry, Dan, Elaine and Mike.

Laurraine lived a simple life filled with love and commitment to her Catholic faith and family. Her care and kindness was displayed through each and every one of her precious smiles. Laurraine treasured her farm life of 61 years, and was a devoted wife and mother. She loved to bake and cook; and her famous Saturday morning caramel rolls will never be forgotten. Her vegetable garden and fruit trees filled her summer days with canning, freezing and making delightful creations for all to enjoy.

Laurraine cherished her involvement in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church - especially the Women's Circle and Bible study. She spent over 20 years involved with the Big Stone County 4-H program promoting life skills for both her children and others.

Laurraine is survived by her children: Nancy (Denny) McGill of Key Colony Beach, FL; Jerry (Melanie) Wiegman of Ortonville, MN; Dan (Carol) Wiegman of Graceville, MN; Elaine (Brian) Jahnke of Fergus Falls, MN; Mike (Robin) of Clinton, MN; Grandchildren: Kelly (Fred), Ryan (Courtney) Ross (Alison), Stacy (Ryan), Chad (Beth), Toby (Joleen), Shawn (Brooke), Rome (Kari), Tracie (Jeremy), Jason, Adam (Samantha), Katie (Randy), Nickolas; step-grandchildren: Jody, Courtney; 35 great grandchildren; Sisters: Dona Stine and Fran Kitoski; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elfreada; husband, Delbert; and brother, Mark.
