Keith Joseph Christiansen was born May 8, 1956, to Dean and Agnella (Sand) Christiansen in Hankinson, ND. He was baptized at St. John's Catholic Church in Rosholt and confirmed at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Minneapolis. Keith lived in Rosholt until the age of four, and moved to Danevang, TX, for one year. He and his family then moved to Minneapolis where he graduated from South Minneapolis High School in 1974. After finishing school, Keith was employed at Keeler Steel in Minneapolis.
In 2007, he decided to fulfill his lifelong dream of working on the farm and moved back to Rosholt. He farmed for Paul and Alan Sand.
Keith was an avid outdoorsman and loved anything to do with nature. He enjoyed hunting and spent many years training dogs to bird hunt.
In his younger years, Keith had a passion for playing and coaching hockey. He coached high school hockey for Blaine and taught his own kids to skate shortly after they were able to walk. He continued his love for hockey by watching the Minnesota Wild as often as possible.
The most important thing in Keith's life was family. He never missed a chance at a family gathering and could never say no to a walk with his grandkids and the dogs down the road by his house. He doted on his children and spoiled his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
Survivors include his children, Becky (Jon) Lick of Rosholt and Garrett Christiansen of Brooklyn Park, MN; grandchildren, Sydney and Colton Lick; mother, Agnella Sand Christiansen of Brooklyn Park, MN; sisters, Sharon Nord of Lakeville, MN, Eileen (Ric) Haapala of St. Cloud, MN, and Mona (Doug) Andersen of St. Michael, MN; brother, Mark Christiansen of North Bend, WA; and many nieces and nephews.
Keith was preceded in death by his father, Dean Christiansen; brother-in-law, Mike Nord; and grandparents, Math and Victoria Sand and Hemming and Bertha Christiansen.
