Katherine "Kathy" Marie McJunkin, 69, Browns Valley, is at peace and has gone to heaven on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Sanford Wheaton Hospital.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 9, at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Browns Valley. *Note change of time*

Burial will be in the Garden of Rest Cemetery, New Effington.

Kathy was born in Browns Valley, MN, to Arnie and Donna (Edwards) Pederson of New Effington, SD, on September 2, 1952. She attended New Effington Grade School and High School. Kathy then moved to Battle Creek, MI, and finished her education at Battle Creek High School. She attended Calhoun Vo-Ed Center for Horticulture then earned her Associate's Degree in Horticulture from Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek.

Kathy fell in love and married Gary McJunkin on May 13, 1972. They had three children, Gary, Donna and David McJunkin. Kathy owned and operated Kat's Lawn Service in Springfield, MI. She had previously worked the grounds and did maintenance at Fort Custer Training Center in Augusta, MI. After moving back to Browns Valley, she worked at the Rosholt Nursing Home.

Kathy took in her grandkids, Wesley, Michele, and Mandy Collige, raising them for several years. She enjoyed teaching them how to fish. She loved fishing, hunting deer, and being silly for everyone to smile. She also enjoyed spending time in her coffee shops with family and friends.

Kathy remarried Dennis Fodor, growing her family with Denise, Christy, and Francis Fodor with several grandkids and great-grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her aunt, Betty Gaulrapp of Breckenridge, MN; her children, Forest "Gary" McJunkin of Okanogan, WA, Donna McJunkin of Browns Valley, and David McJunkin of Omak, WA; and her grandchildren (monkeys), Shelby Finch, Wesley, Michelle, Mandy and Kevin Collige, and Tamarack McJunkin.
