Katherine "Kay" Andrews, 66, Browns Valley, MN, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton, MN.
Funeral services were Monday, January 16, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Browns Valley, MN, with Father David Breu officiating. Music was provided by organist Carmen Hills and vocalists Sue Sykora and Stacey Borgheiinck.
Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery, Browns Valley, at a later date. Honorary urn bearers were Jon Fryer, Ryan Hurlbut, Joshua Biel, Jacob Biel, Jesse Biel and Craig Ziemer. Active urn bearers were Nathan Heck and Jordan Heck.
Visitation was Monday from noon to 2:00 p.m. in the church.
Katherine Louise was born August 1, 1945, in Fargo, ND, to Lawrence and Annabelle (Kehoe) Patterson. Kay attended Graceville High School and graduated in 1964.
On May 13, 1967, Kay and Raymond D. Andrews were married by Father Santo in Browns Valley. Kay worked at Ike's Chicken Shack, Traverse Café and cleaned the St. Anthony's Church in Browns Valley. She also babysat for many years and found enjoyment in watching everyone's children. God must have needed a babysitter in heaven and now has the right person for the job.
Kay loved making mints for special events and enjoyed baking and sharing her goodies with family and friends. Kay's all time special holiday was Christmas. Anyone could see how much she loved Christmas just by entering the house and seeing all of her decorations. No one could forget all of her Christmas goodies.
Kay is survived by her husband, Raymond Andrews of Browns Valley; four children, Debra (Paul) Heck of Wheaton, Arlie Andrews of St. Cloud, MN, John Andrews of Browns Valley, and Heidi (Chris) Wilson of Foreston, MN; ten grandchildren, Tiffany (Jacob) Amborn, Nathan Heck, Jordan Heck, Armanda Heck, Tyrell Heck, Grace Andrews, Aidan Andrews, Elliot Andrews, Dylon Andrews, and Dustin Andrews; a great-granddaughter, Avery Annabelle Amborn; a sister-in-law, Lynn Patterson (Mike Fischer) of Graceville, MN; brothers-in-law, Jim (Diana) Andrews of Alexandria, MN, and Don (Marcella) Andrews of Graceville, MN; lifetime friend Rosie Medbery; many cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Annabelle and Lawrence Patterson; stepfather, Ray Honkomp; mother and father-in-law, Leslie and Edna Andrews; son, Jimmy; brother, Robert Patterson; and brother-in-law, Richard Andrews.
