Junette H. Bostrom

Junette H. Bostrom, 90, New Effington, SD, died Sunday, November 7, 2010, at the Rosholt Care Center.
Funeral services were Thursday, November 11, at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in New Effington with Rev. Harold Watrous officiating. Music was provided by pianist Buffy Kemnitz.
Burial was in the Garden of Rest Cemetery, New Effington. Honorary pallbearers were all of Junette's grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Scott Bostrom, Ed Bostrom, Mike Ceroll, LaVern Meyer, Aaron Kemnitz, Robin Bostrom, Chad Krueger, Jamie Janski, Damian Bostrom and Lee Sebek.
Visitation was Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in New Effington. Visitation continued Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Junette Henrietta was born April 28, 1920, in Lien Township, Roberts County, SD, to Albert and Alma (Nelson) Schultz. She was baptized and confirmed at Ferkingstad Lutheran Church, rural Hammer, SD. Junette attended various country schools, high school in Claire City for two years and graduated from New Effington High School in 1937.
On October 7, 1939, Junette married Earl Bostrom at the Lutheran parsonage in New Effington. To this union, ten children were born. Earl and Junette lived on a farm in rural New Effington until 1992, when they moved into the old Bethany Church in New Effington. On June 16, 2008, Junette made the Rosholt Care Center her home.
Junette was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Faith WELCA. She also belonged to the New Effington Senior Citizens.
Junette's hobbies included quilting and crocheting. She also enjoyed playing games and putting puzzles together. Her favorite moments were spending time with family members reminiscing. Junette will be remembered for her homemade bread and chocolate cake.
Survivors include her husband of 71 wonderful years, Earl of New Effington; ten children, Eugene (Shirley) Bostrom of New Effington, Emil (Donna) Bostrom of Farmington, MN, Janet (Ronnie) Ceroll of New Effington, Mavis (Arlen) Meyer of South Saint Paul, MN, Linda Kemnitz of Lidgerwood, ND, Keith (ReNae) Bostrom of New Effington, Darlene (Jerold) Krueger of New Effington, Dianne (Len) Kindem of Roberts, WI, Paul (Brenda) Bostrom of New Effington, and Bonnie (Mike) Sebek of Claire City, SD; 35 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, and step great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Swenson of Delano, MN, and Helen Swenson of Sisseton; and a brother Orville (Avis) Schultz of Watertown, SD.
Junette was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Hazel, Arlene, Dorothy, and Albert, Jr.; son-in-laws, Marvin Ceroll and Arvin Kemnitz; granddaughters, Lisa and Lana Kemnitz; and a great-granddaughter, Anna Stauffenecker.
