June Johnson

June E. Johnson, 83, Rosholt, SD, died Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the St. Benedict's Hospice in St. Cloud, MN.             Funeral services were Wednesday, February 17, at 1:00 p.m. at Bethania Lutheran Church in Rosholt with Pastor Suzanne Benidt officiating. Music was provided by Lana and Paul Sand.              Burial will be at a later date in the Bethania Cemetery, Rosholt. Honorary pallbearers were all of June's friends. Active pallbearers were Nick Weiszhaar, Dana Johnson, Derrick Rohman, Chuck Heinrich, Jr., Tim Torguson, Larry Torguson, and Marlin Torguson.             Visitation was Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt.    June was born June 29, 1926, in Glenwood, MN, to Ole and Alma (Pederson) Torguson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Glenwood Lutheran Church. She grew up and attended school in Glenwood graduating from Glenwood High School in 1944. After graduation, she was employed at the Gamble-Skogmo Office in Minneapolis.             On June 26, 1948, June married Lloyd Johnson in Glenwood. After their marriage, they lived in St. Peter, Ortonville and Wheaton, MN, where Lloyd was employed. In 1953, Lloyd and June moved to Rosholt where they established Johnson Funeral Home and Furniture. They operated the family business along with their son Steven until their retirement. Lloyd died in December 1996.            June was a member of Bethania Lutheran Church in Rosholt. She was active in Bethania ELCW and taught Sunday school and Bible school for several years. June also served as the secretary treasurer of the Rosholt PTA.             June was a true Norwegian and very proud of it. She loved watching the Twins and Vikings. She enjoyed golf, bowling, snowmobiling, dancing, card parties, and coffee parties. She especially loved spending time at the lake cabin at Breezy Point. June also loved telling stories about her grandchildren whom she loved so much.             Survivors include three children, Nancy (Doug) Weiszhaar of St. Cloud, MN, Steven (Melanie) Johnson of Nisswa, MN, and Bonnie Johnson of Sioux Falls; and four grandchildren, Nick (Jessica) Weiszhaar, Sarah Weiszhaar, Katie Johnson (fiancé Derrick Rohman) and Dana Johnson.             June was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lloyd; and brothers, Clint and Floyd Torguson.
