Julie A. Braaten, 50, Rosholt, SD, died August 26, 2011, at her residence in rural Rosholt.
Funeral services were Thursday, September 8, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethania Lutheran Church in Rosholt with Rev. Nancy Quatier officiating. Music was provided by organist Todd Quatier.
Burial was in the Bethania Cemetery, Rosholt.
Julie Ann was born November 17, 1960, in Shakopee, MN, to Robert and Janice (Fogel) Braaten. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at Bethania Lutheran Church. Julie attended school in Rosholt, graduating from Rosholt High School in 1979. After graduation, she continued to live with her mom on the farm. In the last few years, Julie became her mom's caretaker.
Julie was a member of Bethania Lutheran Church, where she served on the church council. She also volunteered at the Countryside Inn Assisted Living in Rosholt.
Survivors include a brother, Brad (Betty) Braaten of Rosholt; nephews and nieces, Riley Braaten of Rosholt, Bobbi Jo (Casey) Steffens and their children, Madison, Emma and Levi of Fairmount, ND, and Shane (Lori) Braaten and their daughter, Cheyenne of Rosholt; aunts, Betty Busch of Edina, MN, Sharon (Bill) Reil of Wilmot, SD, Arleen Braaten of Felton, MN, and Madeline (Earl) Olson of Alexandria, MN; and the family pets, Sadie and Sunday.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Billy; and grandparents, Oscar and Agnes Braaten and Gordon and Gladys Cameron.
