Judith Broz, 96, New Effington, SD, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at the Rosholt Care Center in Rosholt.
Funeral services were Friday, March 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in New Effington with Rev. Harold Watrous officiating. Music was provided by organist Debra Bredvik.
Burial was in the Nidaros Cemetery, rural Hammer, SD. Honorary pallbearers were all of Judith's granddaughters, great-granddaughters, and great-great-granddaughters.  Active pallbearers were Jason Broz, Doug Gutzmer, Chad Broz, Jeremy Ostby, Justin Ostby, Taylor Ebben, Levi Schellberg, Kyle Schellberg, Dane Edenborg, Kyler Edenborg, Brady Enhstrom, Brayden Ebben, Skyler Broz, Tavin Knudson and Dominik Ostby.
Visitation was Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt and continued Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Judith was born November 23, 1915, to Ole and Anne (Johnson) Pederson on her parent's farm in Lien Township. She was baptized and confirmed in Nidaros Church. Judith attended country school at Lein #6 and graduated from New Effington High School in 1934. After finishing school, she worked as a waitress in Minneapolis.
On June 1, 1939, Judith married Clifford Broz in Sisseton, SD. They farmed and owned their own cream station and locker plant. After raising their children, Judith worked at Landsberger's Creamery in Sisseton. Clifford died May 23, 2000.
Judith was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the ladies circle. She enjoyed attending church activities, baking, cooking, sewing, and quilting. She especially loved spending time with family.
Survivors include her children, Jerry (Geraldine) Broz of Breckenridge, MN, Joyce (Richard) Christopherson of Watertown, SD, Carol Gutzmer of New Effington, and Clyde Broz of New Effington; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Irene Johnston of Aurora, CO; a daughter-in-law, Elaine Broz of New Effington; three sisters-in-law, Rose Pederson of Watertown, SD, Doris Pederson of New Effington, and Agnes Magnuson of Sisseton; and many nieces and nephews.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; two sons, Clinton "Knute" and Carmen Broz; and 13 brothers and sisters.
