Joey Enwiller, 51, of Rosholt was taken to his heavenly home on November 17, 2022, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND, surrounded by his loving wife, family, and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be Sunday, November 20, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethania Lutheran Church in Rosholt with Rev. Nancy Quatier officiating. Music will be provided by Todd Quatier and Keith Falken.
Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Rosholt. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Piechowski and the Rosebud Lake Gang. Active pallbearers will be Jonathan Eggers, Jamie Broz, Scott Rosenkranz, Marty Carlson, Wade Lick, and Brian Lick.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church.
Joey Orlen was born September 3, 1971, in Wheaton, MN, to Jerome and Bonnie (Eggers) Enwiller. He was baptized at St. John's Catholic Church and confirmed as an adult at Bethania-Trondhjem Lutheran Church, both in Rosholt. Joey attended school in Rosholt and Sisseton, SD.
Joey joined the SD Army National Guard in 1989 and received a medical discharge the same year.
In 1997, Joey married the love of his life, Crystal Tischer. To this union two boys were born, Ethan and Tanner. In 2021, Ethan married Samantha Bloom and they have a daughter, Lillian. Becoming a papa was one of the proudest moments in Joey's life.
Trucking was always Joey's passion. He drove for Jacobson Transport in Wahpeton for 17 years and then managed manure spreading and feed hauling for Dean Schmit and Riverview Dairy in Veblen, SD. In 2016, Joey and Crystal started Enwiller Trucking and were proud to operate the business with their boys. Ethan and Tanner are equally proud to have been working with their dad.
Joey enjoyed hunting, riding snowmobile and motorcycle, fishing and camping at Rosebud Campground and spending time with family and friends. While driving, he spent countless hours on the phone with his brother-in-law, Keith, solving the world's problems.
Joey is survived by his wife, Crystal; sons, Ethan (Samantha) Enwiller and Tanner Enwiller; his granddaughter, Lillian; his mother, Bonnie (Roger) Warrington; his sisters, Annette (Keith) Hahn and Lisa Enwiller; his sisters-in-law, Lori (Bruce) Gulan and Valerie (Mike) Sanders; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and a community of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome Enwiller; his uncles, Larry Eggers and Vernon Enwiller; cousins Mark Piechowski, Jodi Taylor and Brian Eggers; his parents-in-law, Dennis and IvaLee Tischer; and sister-in-law, Denise Pankow.
