Jill Pistorius

Jill A. Pistorius, age 47, Browns Valley, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023, in her home.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 9, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Sisseton with Rev. Josh Knudsen officiating.   Music will be provided by organist Ollie Yost and vocalists Sean Lehrke and Deliah Lehrke.

Visitation will be Friday starting at 5:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church. Visitation will continue Saturday morning one hour prior to the service.

Honorary urn bearers will be Todd Pistorius, Chad Pistorius, and Darrell Dobbs.  Active urn bearer will be Cory Vosberg.

Jill Ann was born December 23, 1975, to David and Zinda (McKee) Vosberg in Graceville, MN.  She attended school in Browns Valley, graduating with the last class to graduate from Browns Valley High School in 1994.  Jill earned her medical secretary degree from Alexandria Technical School in 1996.  After finishing school, she was employed at Coteau des Prairies Hospital in Sisseton.

On July 5, 1997, Jill married Jeff Pistorius at Zion Lutheran Church in Browns Valley.  In October 1997, Jill began working as the 4-H secretary at the Roberts County Extension Office in Sisseton.  She loved working with kids, and said it was an honor to meet all of the families across the county.  Together, Jill and Jeff raised two daughters, Madisyn and Olivia.

Jill served on the church council for three years.  She enjoyed gardening, mowing grass, and tending to her flowers.  She also liked diamond painting, coloring on her iPad, and decorating for all the seasons and holidays. Above all, Jill LOVED her three house cats:  Stanley, Tootie, and Murphy. She enjoyed going out for special treats (ice cream, drinks, coffees) with the girls and especially looked forward to her evening golf cart ride with the dogs.

Characteristics of Jill that most people wouldn't deny were her great personality and sense of humor, and her smile that would light up any room.

Survivors include her husband, Jeff of Browns Valley; daughters, Madisyn and Olivia Pistorius of Browns Valley; parents, Dave and Zinda Vosberg of Browns Valley; brother, Cory and Andrea Vosberg of Watertown; mother-in-law, Donna Pistorius of Browns Valley; sister-in-law, Paula Pistorius and Darrell Dobbs of Browns Valley; brothers-in-law, Todd and Tanya Pistorius and Chad and Wendi Pistorius of Browns Valley; and several nieces and nephews.

Jill was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Clarence Pistorius; grandparents, Gene and Charlotte McKee and Louis and Dorothy Vosberg; and cousin, Jason Berning.
