Jerome William was born November 30, 1951, in Breckenridge, MN, to Michael and Cleo (Kelly) Wieser. At some time during the winter of 1952, Jerry became very ill and contracted a very high fever, leaving him with limited mental capacity. Growing up on the farm as a child, he loved the cattle, pigs, and "Duke" the Wieser family dog, plus all of the activities associated with farm life. He remained on the farm until the age of 12, always being cared for by a loving family.
Upon reaching adulthood, Jerry was placed to the South Dakota Developmental Center in Redfield, SD, where he remained a resident, always looking forward to visits from Mom, Dad, and family delivering homemade cookies and treats.
In 1993 he was invited to be a part of ATCO Group Living in Watertown. He truly loved living here, watching TV, and making frequent shopping trips to Walmart and Burger King. McDonald's food was one of "life's little pleasures," of which he had so few.
In 2008, Jerry was transferred to the Good Samaritan Home in Clear Lake. He loved laughter and loved to laugh; that was shared often with us by his caregivers. He was a simple man who only cherished his little bucket of small cars and farm animals and being outside sitting in the sun with nature.
Jerry is survived by his sister, Patty Kamin of Minneapolis, MN; brother, Dennis (Debbie) Wieser of Rosholt; nieces Kelly Knecht of Highmore, SD, and Kristen (Tyler) Krome of Sioux Falls, SD; aunts, an uncle and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Cleo Wieser.
