In Loving Memory of Jerome Hoffman
September 27, 1935 - October 4, 2023

Jerome R. Hoffman, 88, Fargo ND, formerly of Browns Valley, MN, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Bethany Retirement Living on 42nd in Fargo. Although battling Parkinsons for the last several years which limited his mobility and balance, Jerome was always in good spirits.

Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 9, at 10:30 a.m. at Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt with Fr. John Paul Knopik officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Browns Valley followed by lunch at the American Legion.

Jerome Hoffman was born on September 27, 1935, in Browns Valley, MN, to Olga (Wunderle) and George Hoffman. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church where he was baptized and confirmed. He attended school in Browns Valley, graduating in 1953.

On June 18, 1969, Jerome married Mary Valentine at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Sisseton, SD. Their son Robert was born in 1973.

Jerome farmed and raised livestock on the family farm in Browns Valley his entire working life. He was an avid learner and always curious, reading up on farming trends and the latest news. Although farming was his passion, he enjoyed catching up with family and friends and was never known to miss a bullhead feed.

After retirement, Jerome enjoyed simple pleasures and loved spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren. Later in life he enjoyed traveling and visiting new places with his friend Diane.

Jerome was preceded in death by his wife Mary Hoffman on August 31, 2000.

He is survived by a son Robert (Becky) Hoffman and grandchildren Chase and Alexa all of Horace ND; sister-in-law, Marian Valentine; and special friend, Diane Gehler.
