Jack D. Douglas

Jack D. Douglas, 58, Beardsley, MN, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.
A memorial service was held Friday, August 21, at 5:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Browns Valley, MN, with Rev. Paul Warnier officiating. Music was provided by organist Kathy Issendorf and vocalists Sue Sykora and Phyliss Saxton.
Honorary urn bearers were Pat Sullivan, Steve Krone, Eric Douglas, Travis Douglas, and Dusty Douglas. The Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt, SD, was in charge of the arrangements.
Jack Dale Douglas was born August 10, 1957, to Harley and Dorothy (Rinken) Douglas in Browns Valley, MN. He spent most of his childhood in Browns Valley causing trouble with his best friends Steve and Pat. He graduated from Browns Valley High School in 1975.
At the age of 31, Jack met the love of his life, Tammy Deutsch. On July 29, 1990, Tammy and Jack found themselves in the hospital when their son Jesse decided to enter the world. Jesse was Jack's world, his hunting buddy, and pride and joy. Jack thought the world of his son. Everything Jesse has done, Jack was so extremely proud of him. If you would ask him about Jesse, be ready for an earful of stories that he couldn't wait to tell.
Jack finally decided to pop the big question to his beautiful girlfriend, and on May 23, 1992, Jack and Tammy got married at Zion Lutheran Church in Browns Valley. Jack would always say how beautiful she looked, but he would tell her that even when she was in her pajamas and had bedhead.
On February 23, 1993, Jack and Tammy welcomed their second child into the world. This time it was a girl! Kelcey was Jack's little girl and knew just how to get under his skin. She definitely kept Jack on his toes. He taught her how to hunt and fish and she basically was his mini me. He was so proud of the fact she knew how to set up a decoy spread . . . mainly because then he didn't have to go in the water to do it! He was so proud of all her accomplishments.
On August 11, 1996, the day after Jack's birthday, he got the best birthday present of his life, his little Jay bug. Jacey made Jack's world brighter; he would look at her and you could just see his eyes light up. Jacey and Jack did everything together and that included watching the Walking Dead on Sunday nights. Jack bragged about Jacey 24/7 and he especially loved to tell people she was making him a grandpa. Jack was so excited to meet his soon to be granddaughter Brinlee Jacklin Claire Gloege, but Jack didn't quite make it to see her as he passed away Monday, August 17, 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy of Beardsley; children, Jesse, Kelcey and Jacey (Logan Gloege) and grandchild, Brinlee; sister-in-law, Carolyn Douglas of St. Cloud, MN, and her children Eric, Travis and Dusty; brother, Jerry Douglas of Arizona and his children Matt, Brady, and Lindsey; and mother Dorothy of Browns Valley.
Jack is preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Harley; brother, Larry; and his hunting dog, Maggie May.
