Hilda A.F. Nelson

Hilda A. F. Nelson, 96, Rosholt, died Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethania Lutheran Church in Rosholt. The church requires that everyone wear a mask in the sanctuary.

The funeral service will be livestreamed on the Eggers Funeral Home facebook page.

Burial will be in the Trondhjem Cemetery, rural Rosholt. Honorary pallbearers will be the Countryside Inn staff and residents. Active pallbearers will be Todd Dahlman, Ryan Peterson, Wes Koehler, Shane Braaten, Rod Westby, and Paul Meyer.

Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Hilda Anna Frieda Riewe was born March 27, 1924, to Carl and Holinda (Raguse) Riewe in West Taylor Township, Traverse County, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Monson Township, Traverse County, MN. She attended school in Fairmount and graduated from Fairmount High School in 1942.

On November 5, 1950, Hilda married Earl Nelson at the Monson church parsonage in Monson Township. Hilda worked at the Rowland Grocery Store in Rosholt. Hilda and Earl continued to live on the farm until 2001 then moved to Wheaton. Earl passed away July 13, 2004. In January 2011, Hilda moved to the Countryside Inn Assisted Living in Rosholt.

Hilda was a member of Trondhjem and Bethania Lutheran Churches and their WELCA groups, the Rosholt Threshermen's Association, and the Dalton Threshing Bee. Hilda enjoyed playing cards and games. She also loved going on antelope hunting trips and fishing trips with Flossie and Helgie Larsen.

Survivors include her daughter, Deanna Zentgraf of Rosholt; three grandsons, Aaron Zentgraf of North Carolina, Jeremy Zentgraf, his friend Paula and her children Conner and Charlie of Wahpeton, ND, and Erik Zentgraf of Springfield, MO; and cousin, Mary (George) Cross of Aberdeen, SD.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; and brothers, Ben, Ewald, Leo and Adolf.
