Gene Paulson

Eugene "Gene" Paulson, 85, Rosholt, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at the Coteau des Prairies Hospital in Sisseton.

A private family gathering will be held.

Herman Eugene Paulson was born May 21, 1936, to Herman and Ada (Heifner) Paulson in Wahpeton, ND. He graduated from the Morris Agricultural School in Morris, MN.

On March 15, 1955, Gene married Beverly Ziemer in Browns Valley.

Gene was a caring man, serving in many ways, from his service to our country in the Army Reserves to helping those employed in their gravel construction, trucking and organic grain processing businesses.

He was an avid reader, always learning and putting his knowledge to the test.  If you needed any part to complete a project or an idea on how to do it, he had it and was willing to help you make it work.  If he didn't have it – he would get it for you at a sale or a K-bid auction.

Gene loved his family and friends and was always happy to visit.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Rosholt; children, Linda (Tim) Simonson of Rosholt, Renee (Gary) Hedman of Ada, MN, Vickie (Don) Bender of Fairburn, SD, Brian Paulson of Lakewood, CO, Karen (Leroy) Fussy of Swanville, MN, and Debbie Johnson of Fargo, ND, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Alison (Travis) Pearce, Damien and Camieo; Elizabeth Murray (Peter Cannon); Ashlee (Seth) May, Myley, Maycee and Rhett; Dane Finnesand (Katie Starr). He is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy and Carole.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ada; and sister, Elaine.
